Water slows down time. Brings us back into the body. These sessions are about far more than simply taking photos — they are about creating imagery that feels iconic, ethereal, heartfelt, and deeply meaningful – memories that will last a lifetime.

To me, water is life, is magic, is spirit, is the cosmos, is the safe and warm womb from which we all came. Water reflects what we bring into it — care, passion, grief, joy, transformation, surrender.

No underwater experience is needed.
I’ve photographed everyone from world-class swimmers to people who can barely float or have never gone underwater comfortably before. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and fully guided throughout. Most underwater moments last only a few seconds at a time, with plenty of breaks, coaching, and support along the way.
Unlike traditional portrait sessions where everything is tightly controlled, underwater we collaborate with the elements themselves — water, fabric, movement, light, gravity, breath.
You float. You sink. You rise.

Over more than 20 years as a professional photographer, I’ve developed a highly intuitive approach to directing movement, shaping fabric, capturing emotion, and helping people feel beautiful and at ease in front of the camera — even in an entirely unfamiliar environment.
Sessions take place in private heated pools throughout Southern California, including San Diego, La Jolla, Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe, Orange County, Los Angeles, and beyond, using both private rental pools and client locations. I also maintain an extensive collection of flowing robes, fabrics, dresses, and styling pieces to create a range of visual moods and looks.
